Support shaped around your recovery
Recovery looks different for everyone. Our approach focuses on your individual circumstances, strengths and goals. Your recovery coach can support you to:
- Identify your strengths and personal goals
- Build capacity, confidence and resilience
- Develop everyday decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Understand and navigate the NDIS
- Find, organise and coordinate appropriate supports
- Prepare for periods when you may need additional support
- Connect with community and mainstream services
- Access appropriate health and mental health services
- Build stronger connections within your community
Your services, working together
Managing different services and providers can sometimes feel overwhelming. Your recovery coach can help you understand the different supports available to you and assist with bringing those services together. This includes helping you communicate with NDIS providers, community organisations, health professionals and mental health services so your supports are better coordinated and working towards your goals.
There may be times during your recovery journey when you require more support than usual. Your recovery coach can work with you to recognise challenges early, develop strategies and create plans for managing periods when your support needs increase, so you feel prepared and confident while maintaining your connections with important supports.
Building towards greater independence
Building a strong relationship with your recovery coach is an important part of the process. We take the time to get to know you, understand what matters to you and, where appropriate, involve the people who are important in your life. Our support is centred around your choices, strengths and goals, allowing you to take an active role in decisions about your recovery and future.
Psychosocial Recovery Coaching is not about making decisions for you. It is about helping you develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to make more decisions for yourself. Over time, we aim to help you strengthen your independence, resilience and ability to manage your supports while continuing to work towards the life you want.
